Query: Zero Room archive?

Someone, somewhere, mentioned the Zero Room, and I went to take a look.  Nice DW fanfic archive.  It's small, so far, and most of the authors and stories are familiar to me from LiveJournal or the Teaspoon.

Question for those of you who've put stories there: why?  I say this with no intended snarkiness, just curiosity: why post to yet another archive?

Because ultimately all online resources are ephemeral, and you never know when something's going to go belly-up (or get "raided" or whatever) and nuke a public archive of material that you've spent years building. It's nice to have online backup.

Also, if you're into getting your stories out there to be read, it's nice to have the option of getting new readers who might not "overlap" with other archives/fora.

With what dameruth said. Although it's been kind of a pain to post to Teaspoon, fic_of_fork, and Zero Room. I'm not sure how many people actually use the zero room, though.

Fair enough. That's one of the reasons I also post to ff.net.

I don't think that anything can be more of a hassle than posting to LJ. One of the reasons that I bother is that it allows not just for reviews and responses, but for actual dialogue between writers and readers.

That's why I made fic_of_fork, too...Teaspoon is nice, but there's no back and forth. Sometimes I'd like to hear a little more about what an author was thinking, you know? (Plus my friend's list at large isn't as much into Doctor Who.)
