Just a little over a year ago, [livejournal.com profile] dshael reported that [livejournal.com profile] polgarawolf had posted a Doctor Who story on fanfiction.net that contained text stolen from a variety of DW fan writers, including [livejournal.com profile] dameruth, [livejournal.com profile] cherryice, Joolz, and myself. On the theory that plagiarists are often repeat offenders, several of us went digging and discovered that a large number of her other stories (mostly Star Wars) contained bits plagiarized from many authors in many different fandoms, as well as passages from published novels.

It's a long, messy tale, and if you don't already know the details you can find them here, here, here, and here.

Title: Adventureland
Rating: Teen
Pairing: Ten/Jack
Series: Two Travellers
Spoilers/Warnings: Brief, non-graphic description of previous violence.
Word Count: ~3500
Summary: They’re just planning a day of fun and relaxation at Disneyland.  What could possibly go wrong?  (This is the third story in this series, following Consequences and Unlikely Treasure.  All you need to know is that Jack has been traveling with the Tenth Doctor, and they have recently become lovers.  Set after Children of Earth for Jack; before Planet of the Dead for the Doctor.
Author’s note: This was intended to be a quick little ficlet, a stocking-stuffer for [livejournal.com profile] yamx, in [livejournal.com profile] fandom_stocking.  Unfortunately, I seem to be incapable of writing stories under 1000 words (other than drabbles).  Here it is, finally.  I thank Yamx for her patience and understanding.  I hope this proves worth the wait.
Betas: The brilliant and fantastic [livejournal.com profile] canaana and [livejournal.com profile] wendymr.

“Harkness, you’re insane!”

“You’re a psychiatrist now, Owen? What’s your objection to Chester joining Torchwood?”

“Who’s going to look after him? I don’t want my supply orders bollocksed up because Teaboy is busy with Chester.”

“I’ll help,” Gwen and Tosh say simultaneously.

“We’ll take turns,” Tosh adds.

“The girls won’t get anything done if they’re mooning over him,” Owen grumbles.

Chester says nothing.

“I’ll do it,” Jack says. “Torchwood needs him. We’ve enough work chasing aliens without handling terrestrial problems, too.”

Owen snorts. “He’ll be in your bed every night. Not that I care.”

Torchwood’s new Rodent Control Officer purrs.

And here it is -- the absolute last bit of Lyonnesse!  It's finished.  Done.  Complete.  When I began this nearly two and a half years ago, I had no idea what a long, strange journey I was committing myself to.  Thanks to all of you who had the patience to follow along.   Thanks to my lovely betas, Canaana and Wendymr.

Title: Unlikely Treasure
Author: Lindenharp
Rating: R for sexual situations, temporary character death, and mention of past torture.
Pairing: Ten/Jack
Series: Two Travellers
Spoilers: spoilers for Children of Earth.
Word Count: 7561
Summary: The Doctor wants to figure out the mystery of a lost treasure. Jack wants to figure out the mystery of the Doctor.
Author’s note: This story was written for the Summer/Winter Holidays Challenge on the Winter Companions LJ comm for the prompt: white, 24, anger, black pepper. It is a sequel to my story Consequences, but it can stand alone. My magnificent betas [livejournal.com profile] canaana , [livejournal.com profile] yamx , and [livejournal.com profile] wendymr caught many goofs, plot holes, historical errors, and Americanisms. [livejournal.com profile] taversham graciously offered to check my use of Cornish dialect, and saved me from several mistakes.

Title: Lyonnesse (15/15 + Epilogue)
Characters: Ninth Doctor, Rose Tyler, Jack Harkness

A/N:
This was supposed to be the last chapter.  And it is.  Sort of.  My Muse insisted on an epilogue.  The first draft of the epilogue is finished.  I'm about to go on vacation, and will polish and post it when I return in a week's time.  I can never sufficiently thank my beta goddesses, Canaana and Wendymr (speed-Britpicker extraordinaire) for their help.

I've posted this chapter to LJ, but with the current problems I'm not sure if people will be able to read it there.  I will eventually import the earlier chapters to Dreamwidth.  In the meantime, they can be found on the
Teaspoon, AO3, and ff.net.

I just want to share a wonderful story that impressed me so much I've reread it twice to savor the beautiful language and the episode-perfect dialogue.  Night Terrors by Lyricwritesprose is a vignette, a character sketch of Rory and the Eleventh Doctor. My summary of the "plot" would be: "After the events of The Doctor's Wife, Rory has nightmares.  He talks to the Doctor about them."

The truth is, not much happens in this story.  That's not the point.  It's a brilliant portrait of Rory Williams, who describes himself as "quite ordinary, really" despite all of the extraordinary things that have happened to him.  It's also a portrait of the Doctor as seen through Rory's eyes.  I lovelovelove authors who understand that the Doctor is an alien.  However kind and compassionate he may be, however much he cares for us humans, he is not like us.

A sample under the cut. . . )

There's also some reference to Rory's Roman memories, which is another favorite theme of mine.

Lyricwritesprose doesn't appear to be on LJ or Dreamwidth, only on the Teaspoon.  Pop over there and read this magnificent story, and if you like it even a fraction as much as I did, leave a review.

Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] dameruth :

"Go look at your blog journal. Find the last Fandom-related thing you posted. The characters in that post are now your team-mates in the Zombie Apocalypse. How fucked are you?"

The last fic I posted was a drabble featuring the early Season 2 Torchwood team, so I am golden.  If I can only have the characters explicitly named in the fic, I lose Tosh, but I'm still in great shape.

Zombies, schmombies.

This question is directed at people who have visited the Exhibition recently, and/or who are locals.

So. . . as part of a longer European holiday (Belgium, actually), I will be in London May 22-24.  I will be seeing Tennant and Tate in "Much Ado" that Wednesday evening (SQUEE!).  I've been to London several times, so I'll just be using my time to visit places I haven't seen before.

Top of my list is the Doctor Who Exhibition.  Their website advises reservations, but I'd rather not be tied down to a particular day and time.  Now that it's no longer shiny-new, are advance tickets still necessary?

Also, is there are particular time that is less likely to to crammed with shrieking children?  I'm thinking that a weekday might be better than Sunday.  Also, I'm over 50 and traveling alone.  Am I going to stand out like a Sontaran at a garden party?  (I'm going anyway.  Just wondering.)

Thanks!
