A/N: A quick, silly drabble -- a get-well gift for wendymr, with the hope that it will amuse her. 100 words according to MS Word.


The Doctor looks up as Rose enters the control room, plastic bag in one hand, tea in the other.  "Mornin', sleepyhead.  What's that?"

"Ummm... don't you get tired of wearing the same thing every day?"

"Not a fashion model, me.  Change my jumper, don't I?"

"All those dark colours -- might as well be the same one.  So... I knit you a new one.  Something brighter."

"You knit?"

"Yeah.  Mickey's gran taught me."

"You knit me a jumper.  Huh.  Where'd you get the wool?"

"In the Wardrobe, sorta.  There was this really long scarf, too long for anyone to wear--"

Thanks. I don't knit, myself. My mom does. My grandmother did. She tried to teach me crochet, even putting the hook in her left hand. No luck. She was more successful with needlepoint, and I picked up embroidery on my own. But I just don't have the knitting/crochet chromosome.

I can't crochet or embroider worth a damn. Did your mom and grandmother knit English (yarn in the right hand). might have an easier time learning continental knitting (yarn in the left), if you're a lefty. eveanhei knits backwards as a lefty, and it works (beautifully) for her.

Hehehe. Having finished one not so long ago myself, I'm thinking Rose might be in danger of regenerating if Madame Nostradamus ever finds out... ;)
